Cota, Daines and Norton Take Part in American Heart Association Fundraiser
BALTIMORE (October 2010) - Summer has ended. The mornings are getting darker, and the days are getting shorter. The temperature is getting colder, and the workloads are getting heavier. It is a trying time for many. So, Community Analytic head ladies Marjorie Cota, Kim Daines, and Myra Norton decided to toss aside their busy schedules and went for a walk.
People do it all the time. However, the Community Analytics’ CEO, VP of Sales and Director of Operations did it for a good cause. Norton, Cota and Daines spent their Saturday on October 23 walking in the Greater Baltimore “Start! Heart Walk”. The event is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association designed to benefit projects combating cardiovascular disease.
Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death of all Americans. In fact, heart disease amounts to more deaths annually than every form of cancer combined. Cardiovascular disorders are the most common cause of infant death from birth defects. About 36,000 babies are born with heart defects each year. “The efforts of the American Heart Association and those who support it change lives and do good for communities every day,” Norton said. “I’m never going to look away from an opportunity to lend my support to a cause such as that.”
Funds raised in the walk support research and development projects that identify new ways of prevention and treatment for heart disease. The goal is to continue to get life-saving information to those who need it most as well as raise awareness of one of the nation’s most subtle killers. “It is always an honor to represent Community Analytics in events such as the Greater Baltimore Heart Walk,” said Cota.
