It’s hard to know where to start with this post – there are so many exciting learnings to share from WOMMA’s first Word of Mouth Marketing University (WOMM-U). Yesterday we had the pleasure of hearing from Joseph Jaffe, Jeffrey Graham, the good folks at OPI, and Carla Hendra. In these keynotes and case studies were many nuggets of wisdom about the importance of WOM, Community and the new frontiers of customer engagement in general.
I particularly appreciated the balance of enthusiasm for these new frontiers with candor about the struggles of monitoring and measuring their impact. One of the words that emerged throughout the day was “authenticity” – one of my favorites, as you may suspect from previous posts! I applaud the WOMMA board and organizers of this event for choosing well the speakers and case studies. This morning has been no exception with Andrew Lark form Dell and a great case study from Carnival Cruise Lines.
