I was doing some research and came across this entertaining video satirizing the current state of advertiser/customer relationships. Watch it and then I'll share a few of my thoughts.

It's true - marketing has historically been one-way. Customers are told what to think about a product and advertisers claim to know customers well because of extensive demographic data. As if that is not frustrating enough, customer's needs and recommendations are not heard. Customers want authentic engagement and they will get it, sooner or later.
