Opportunity Identification

Establish direct contact.

Influence networks are unique to each situation, so we begin with a consultation to define the community, the topics of interest they share with the organization, and the goals or obstacles that exist.

The next phase is the rigorous challenge of mapping the network. Community Analytics uses a sophisticated program of direct communication, technology, and mathematics to accurately diagram the connections that matter most to a community, from the community’s perspective. There is simply no substitute for direct contact. As this research progresses, a complex and relevant influence network evolves.

The data is analyzed scientifically to determine those individuals who hold strategic positions. We call these individuals key network members. Within this group we look for individuals with the greatest number of connections, trusted advisors. These individuals are essential to the process because they speak to and speak for the network and the community as a whole and are the conduits through which an organization can establish a dialog with a community. We also identify connectors, individuals that grow the network as a result of their links between members and their reputation as an information source.
